TCB Bingo Volunteering

First and foremost, thank you for volunteering to help the TCB fulfill its obligations to the charity bingo program!

As we emerge from the depths of the pandemic, our volunteer duties are changing.  Please see below to keep up to date.

Directions & Tips

  • No access from Westbound St. Clair
  • There is an unlabeled driveway on Old Weston Road to get to the parking lot. Otherwise, you get a 10-minute scenic tour that includes a level crossing.

November / December 2021 Duties

  • Smoking is not permitted in the facility.
  • All Volunteers must be fully vaccinated and bring proof with government issued ID, and masked.
  • Dress code remains in place (charity logo / name on collared shirt; dark pants/skirt)
    • if no logo’d shirt yet, white collared shirt will suffice temporarily
  • You must sign in and out from using the binder in the volunteer room (photo of volunteer room door). This is mandatory to receive funding.
  • Bring the USB key with the TCB Bingo Slide Show on it
    • When you arrive, plug it into the display that is present (behind plexiglass).
    • There are supposedly instructions nearby but we haven’t been able to figure them out yet (let us know if you figure it out and we’ll update this page).
    • Tech specs for the TCB movie creator: Please bring your own usb’s with either slide show or video, or run the usb that is always in place. Formats are jpeg MP4, AVI, WMV, FLV, MKV, MOV (here is a link for anyone who is very tech savvy http://www.acrok.com/best-video-format-for-tv/)
  • Core cGaming online training is not required at this time
  • Since only one Volunteer per session, a table will be set up at the back entrance of the hall and volunteer will be posted there for duration of session. Duties are very minimal; Greeting and smiling, thanking customers for coming, answering questions regarding your charity if asked. Please note: there are minimal bingo sessions daily (2, and 3 on weekends right now) so volunteers will be present when there is no session (centre staff are there to carry out the required health and safety protocols – this is not our responsibility)
  • One Volunteer for a two-hour assignment – Only one volunteer is allowed due to limited duties and health and safety concerns – there will be no exceptions

  • We serve the community through concerts
    • including two recital hall concerts (typically Glenn Gould Studio) and one concert in the community each season (e.g. Metropolitan United Church, Daniels Spectrum, Humber Valley Village United Church, etc)
  • We serve our members through rehearsals
  • Typical uses of funds
    • Musical instruments and equipment purchases
    • Musical director stipend – to ensure they are paid market rates
    • Rehearsal space rental (prices went up 10x this year due to COVID making our school space unavailable)
